Prairie633,
It has taken me me some time but we have talked in the past,...........I know who you are, these last few posts have put me over the top on you!!!!!!

SgtRock,
I have not seen your graph but I think that the new cdi's coming out have a slightly different map. The ones originally sent for testing were at 31* which have been changed to 33*. There was a lag time from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm but not now it starts to climb from 1100 rpm to roughly 4000 rpm where the timing is not retarded till 9200. This is the slight changes from the original test units.

Just for general knowledge the new cdi will out perform a module and key. The incline of timing is the right way to stop detonation pretty much as Prairie633 described with respect to igniting gases. There is no comparison between cutting wires to installing a module then install a key to have the timing retard after 6500, it is far easier to pull some plugs and simply install a new cdi. The only way anymore timing can be pushed into the new cdi is install a key or install a mapping device. The cost of a mapper plus a cdi, you may as well go with totally programmable ignition because it will have dented your pocket about the same. I have had my quad up to 40* of timing for different applications, 33* is very good for the weekend power junky now you want more!!!! I am thankful a company has taken the initiative to produce a plug and play system we have been waiting for how long. It's a good system Dyna has been in the market for some time now I don't believe they would sell us short. I would have liked to show some results of testing between the modules and the new cdi but it has been rather cool here for the last 4 months plus some deep snow, perhaps in the spring!!! I had hoped that DG would have come out with it first since they have done a lot of work on it either way they may break their jinx.

alltoys, I had your phone number, but it doesn't work anymore. I was going to ask you about all of the smoke blowing over at HL, and your comments on the "other" aftermarket cdi available soon. PM me with a good number and time if you want too.

Howdy gang,
Do you guys think that Diamond G is just watching all this smoke blowing about new modules and not preparing to regain their leadership in the module market. I think that, soon, they will upset the applecart of moduledom again. Just my guestimation but we will see. Competition sure is fun for us isnt it. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
