Can someone help me please. I have a prairie 360 4X4 2003 Quad. I want to install a speedometer. I'm not into auto mechanics and feel intimidated. Is it much of a job or should I let the dealer install it? Would appreciate some input.

 

Welcome to the forum. Its easy to install. Everything is already there. It runs about $100. Remove the inner fender and you should have access to the wiring.

It's not tough stuff hawkeye. I believe that the trail tech computers use a sensor that you mount to the front disk. All you have to add is keyed on 12V power on and it's a done deal. Another easy option is to just mount a GPS unit to your machine. It will give you true MPH readings along with all it's other attributes.

 

The GPS is a good idea. I hadn't thought of that. I believe the stock unit from Kaw is a plug in unit.

 

You can try the Garmin website if you're not familiar with GPS. It will keep you from getting lost too, which is one of the attributes Bigsaint was talking about.
