Default Got the 700 belt, now just get it installed...

I just got my new 700 belt from the dealer, now all I need to do is get installed... I have made the belt adjustment before, so I don't think I will have any problems... BUT, do any of you have any "tips" that might help??? Also, is there anything I need to look for while I have it apart??? Thanks.... Goldbug

When I first installed the P700 belt on my P650, I had to adjust the shims to get it within spec. I seem to recall that the original adjustment with the newly installed P700 belt was two .6mm shims (total of 1.2mm). Since then, I have changed it again after putting 300 miles on it and now I have one .8mm shim in it. Of course, everyone's belt adjustment is a little different, so just do whatever shims it takes to be within spec.

When I first installed the P700 belt, I noticed my top speed in high range increased by 1mph and top speed in low range increased by 2mph. You might have similar results.

Good luck and Happy trails...

You probably already know this, but I think the service manual says to take off the primary clutch to get the belt off, which is unnecessary. You can work the belt off and back on by turning the secondary clutch clockwise. The 700 belt is hard to get on, but you can do it this way.
