Default A Year in the life V Force

Props to the V!!!

I've had my V almost 1 year now and am very pleased with my purchase, I was talking to the sales guy @ our local dealership today about possibly adding one of the new 450's in about a year after all the hoopla has died down and I can see which one holds up the best. I told him it would be a good second bike to have around for my wife . He asked me if I would be trading in my V...he(double L) no! I realize that It's a bit chubby, but it's also priceless to smoke some of the people who refer to it as a utility. A few months back I dropped in on a sweet z-400 and a really nice Banshee at a TT style track around here after about a lap and 1/2 I had caught them and passed them both. Not too bad for a "utility" with an "auto" tranny. I'm not trying to bash any other bikes, just saying that the V- Force will always be a fixture in my garage for many years to come.

What have I done to the V in the past year:

HMF Duals
Trail Tech 1 1/8" bars and "dash"
Dynojet kit on fourth clip: 134f/138r(DJ) mains: air screws 2.5 turns out
Dalton clutch kit(weights,HPD plain w/1 shim,cover)
AC front bumperro-armor; A-arm guards and grab, swingarm guard: DG Nerfs & belly skid.
ITP Baja's T-9 on the corners(stock tires)
2 TPI slider vents
20 & 12 fin inline coolers.
Elka triple rates zero preload w/res.
1.5" Highlifter wheel spacers (rear only)
UNI air filter/ K&N oil filter/Golden Spectro 10-40/ Engine Ice
IMS 4.6 Gal tank
Tiny Tach(for maintence hours-ultra delay tach)
Removed carb heater lines
Removed stock snorkel
Realters on the rear for a while(not enough traction in corners)
I am a parts stockin' ***** when it comes to filters, oil, plugs.

How's you V experience been and how ya dialed in??? Ride-On.....Mudfoot

I am with ya, got mine last March, I have most of the upgrades and for the most part like the bike. Still think 700cc should be quicker and faster overall. I need to find a spring I like and performs (have the dalton blue), the quest continues.

Mudfoot, I've had mine almost a year and I feel the same way you do...I love that thing! It may be big and a little heavy, but it moves! I just got the pink spring and i'm in the process of installing yoshi duals....I am very used to the way it rides and handles and have no problem ripping around on an mx track. I've ridden my cousin's KFX400 and it feels too small and light for me.....The V feels very planted and stable and jumps nicely as well. I also love the auto tranny on it....In my opinion it is way better than a clutch and i've ridden plenty of atv's with them. Definitely the best overall sport quad out there in my opinion.....

Hi Yall

Same type of story went to local indoor for practice and this bike can hang with all the rest.

Elkas
RPM Axle (Sweet)
Strong Arm A-Arms +1+1 Long Travel (in 6-8 weeks in R&D)
New Lava Red Plastic
DMC Dules
Honda Hubs
18 in holeshots rear, bead locks
19 in holeshots front
CDI (Will be here this week)
Hitch
Pull Behind Mower
red spring
and all of the little things needed to make this thing rip.

I purchased it through procom eng. and it was $147 with shipping. I put it on and you can tell that it revs. higher but my a-arms are in canada and I am here in ohio so I will give you guys a test when I get them back but that might be two weeks.

Well the V suffered it's first bent tie rod today, not really a big deal though I've got a few extra in the garage because I was sure that I would bend one sooner or later, must say it ran like a champ today, ran ultra strong and pulled great with the new Dalton cover and weights(with HPD Plain), got home today and the friendly UPS man had left me a polaris yellow and brown, I'll try those out soon and keep ya posted. I did notice that my new belt is squeaky when in gear @ idle, any thoughts on the squeak? Ride-on!

P.S. Proud of my collarbone as well it held up today also...
