Default big tires and mudding on p360

does the 360 have enough power to spin 27"s in the mud or can they even fit. im looking for a good mud machine and im comparing this and the eiger, i like the p360 because the front locker. with 27's rub? and is there enough power?

I ran 27 on my 400 it ate power but I got most of it back with a few mods like k&N jet kit mod clutches.... (I put a 2000 KVF 400 muffler on it too).

27s will rob you of power. I know I will sound like a zuki shill but i can say without a doubt that the Eiger has way more power. My ridding buddy has a P360 and is trading it in on a p700 this week. The weather here was fantastic so we opted for some riding this weekend instead of readying the 360 for the trip to the dealer. We are taking out the black spring so we can put it in the 700 and switching the 589s for the original tires. We're taking off some of the extra metal we installed for the skid plates/ push bar. ( you can see a pic at my site- the lil camera on the left.)

Anyway we tried to see how the two compared all day. At 40mph (about top speed of the P) the Eiger (top speed of about 55mph) will run away from the 360. (I know it wont run close to the 700). From a dead stop the 360 will leap out and lead for about 20 feet (this is the result of the black spring). On a steep hill I had to slow down to keep from running into the 350. On a side by side drag up a pretty steep paved hill I could slow down to his speed and take off again without much effort. His 589s helped him go thru some mud with less effort than I did.

Having said that, the p360 is a much more comfortable machine to ride on for me. I see it this way, the E is a 400 on a 300 size frame (this is what gives it such a high fun factor) and the P in a 360 on a 650 size frame(creating more comfort). I'm 6'2" and 250lbs and I really appreciate the extra room ( I'm trading up soon too).

Wait for the rumored 500 V-Twin coming out from Kawi, that should turn some heads.

These are all good posts... we have a 300 Prairie, that up until 1 mud bog race last year, was undefeated over the last 3 years, in the under 500 cc 4 X 4 class... no motor mods... ( this is the quad my wife races )... we run 25" X 8" X 12" tires all the way around, on a set of light weight ( stock ) 650 Prairie rims... at one race last summer one of my wifes competitors was heard saying "she aint go'in no where with them little tires"... she won the event, & he didn't even come close ( in 3 years she has only lost to 1 450 Honda )... the 360 will do quite well, with some clutch mods as listed above... some owners are trying the flywheel timing advance key, that others are trying in the "big" Prairies ( to early for results here yet )... but one of the best things you can do is not to overload your quad with heavy tires... if you pick an aggressive 25" tire, you'll find that you can go through alot more ( most of the time ), than you would be able to with a 26" or 27" tire... last year, she was competing in her class, as well as working the pit between classes, at one of the mud bog races... she made 2 runs through the pit before the open class ( when the pit was at it's worst ), with out getting stuck...

My p360 riding buddy and my Foreman 450 riding brother insist that the 589s are the bestest tire there is.

If you want the best tire, look at outlaws. Hands down the best mud tire, they seem to float more than the vampires because they are wider, have a side wall lug and the lugs are not overly huge. The vamps are skinny, dig down and have huge lugs. Each tire is built for different types of mud, I love the outlaws on my P650, it spins them like no tomorrow. All mud tires will create power loss, espcially the outlaws, vamps, zillas, etc.
