Lakota_________ (tired of eating dust)
#1
I have a friend who always rides with me in his lakota, and his tired of having a underpowered quad compared to mine.(MY QUAD HAS_WB CAMS, SPRING KIT, SUPERTRAPP PIPE, PORT AND POLISH, KLR CDI BOX, TURF TAMER TIRES). He wants to spend about 1000 dollars, what mods can he put to his lakota?

If you feel mechanically inclinded to do so....higher compression piston (.40 over), new cam(s), and definitely exhaust (perhaps cobra jet or big gun). Try www.rageperformance.com
That should take you up to $1000 if not a tad bit over.
If you feel the bike is reving through the gears quickly and not obtaining much speed, then try re-gearing it www.sprocketspecialists.com larger front or smaller rear will gain mph.
Remember you'll probably need to rejet the carb after all the mods. Check the article at www.bombardierds650.com they have a nice carb adjustment and plug reading articles.
Hope this helps!

I have a 98 Lakota with a mild cam, manual clutch conversion, jet kit, DG pipe with SuperTrapp Discs, 20" Shredders on .190 Douglas rims, 13 Tooth front sprocket and UNI Filter. I ride with 300 EX's, Wolverines, 500 Scramlbers and of course 400EX's, and don't have to worry about eating dust. It's not the fastest of the bunch, but not the slowest either.
