You will have to run high grade/octane fuel.

Ordered

What made my mind up was the 650 beat the 700, when the only change was the cdi switched from the 700 to the 650.

Can someone explain the comment from Lightman about high octane fuel req'd and piston detonation? Thanks for any info.

Ordered I hope I got one of the first 6! Should have my machine up and running soon. The CDI will be just one EASY mod to add to list!

Alltoys,

How you feeling? Your accident has got me thinking about slowing done abit, but I just ordered a CDI that will make me faster? I really think I need some help!

Do you think richer jets will be needed in some motor combinations with the new CDI? I was planning on trying 178 and 182 mains with my new DJ setup?

One more thing!

I was just checking out the instructions for the CDI when I read about the kill switch warning. Will a kill switch connected to the gray wire on the key switch void the warranty or are they talking about a coil wire?

I was kidding about the pistons melting. I'm sure that they were conservative enough in their tuning and testing that people wont be melting engines left and right. (At least I hope!)

As far as high octane fuel required, the more you advance your timing, the higher octane you need in a basic sense...

Wildwill, I have my tether hooked to the gray wire also but unhooked it to run the Dyna CDI Alltoys sent me to play with so I would not take the chance of messing it up. I was going to call Dyna and ask them that same question tho. Will it make you go faster,,,, LOL,,, you might want to call Mickey and get one of the gripper seat covers he stuck on mine so you don't get sucked off at high speed!
I ran the CDI on a brand new bone stock 700P this weekend,, oh wait,,, I did have the Dalton clutch mods in there but anyway,,, brand new with 7 miles on it we hit 72MPH and let off! Didn't want to push the new engine too hard ya know!

The octane rating you run in these should be at the very least 91!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all of this time waiting, I can't wait to see what the actual tested gains are going to be. I think all Prairie 650/700 owners should give a moment of silence today for Grizzly 660 riders!
