OK, it’s finally here! The suggested retail price for the Prairie ignition will be $247.00. We are offering an additional 10% discount to you early birds and those that order before the end of April. It is important to get your order in ASAP since we need to know how many of each model to build for this initial run. You order should ship no more than 1-2 weeks after you place it. There are 2 models available, DFS2-12 for the 2001 2002 650 and DFS2-13 for the 2003 650 and 2004 700. You may order these directly from our website or by calling 626-963-1669. Website orders will have the discount applied when the order is entered.

Sincerely,

Scott Valentine

I just got the same email. BTW - I sent the inquiry to them way back in Jan. of 2003. They must have a long memory. Only problem is that I now have an offset 6 degree key in mine that I'd have to take out.

Nova,
Scott V. told me on the phone that they had 6 on hand for the 2002 P650 version and 6 on hand for the other version (2003 and 2004 models). He said he wasn't sure, but that he figured the shipping dept **might** go ahead and ship out the first 12 for the first 12 orders and then make them to order for the rest of the orders that come in (at least for this first batch anyway). So order it now if you want one!

Is the prairie version going to have all the programmable curves etc like the one on their website or is it fixed?

forgive me if this is a stupid question to you guys but i'm new to all of this. is this the same thing as the holeshot module? i'm sure it's not, what is it? what will it do? and how much power will it give? is it a whole lot better than that holeshot module or are they 2 seperate things? if they are seperate will they work together? thank you for any info and sorry again if this is a stupid question or if it's been asked 1,000 times before.

Swampslut,
The modules basically remove the retarded timing at the bottom of the rpm range (makes it take off faster/pull wheelies easier). By comparison, the new cdi is definitely different than the modules currently available on the market right now b/c the cdi adds 5 degrees to the max timing output as compared to stock cdi and the cdi also increases the rev limit (however, this latter improvement will not be noticeable for most stock Prairies). Also, the new cdi is better than the modules b/c it removes both the retarded timing at the bottom and top rpm range whereas the modules only remove the retarded timing at the bottom. Hope this helps explain it.

PS - The new cdi should not be affected (for better or worse) if a module is connected to it b/c the cdi ignores the speed sensor signal.

Happy trials...
