I wonder if there will be any deal/discount for current Holeshot customers.

I was told that the current Holeshot customers will get a discount on the new device. I think it was called a DG3? It was tested against the old Holeshot and the HL power pak, and pulled ahead of the Holeshot in the mid range, and ahead of the power pak on the bottom and mid ranges. It has some kind of processor in it that constantly reads the speed and changes the output? I was told it is the result of the Holeshot and Unlimiter project tests. I would like to see a test with it and an offset key vs. new cdi and no key, specifically in the 0 to 65 MPH range. For those of you that run 65+MPH when trail riding, I think the cdi will still have the edge. They said they will have it in stock in about a week. Now Highlifter will have something else to boot from it's forums.

will this new module also help the engine run cooler? apart from the increased power benefits of the dynatek cdi, the fact that the buggy will be running cooler is a big bonus.

I don't know how it works, but to improve the performance, in reality, it needs to remove the timing retard... if it removes the timing retard, it will run cooler...

Below is the site of a company that has been building on override module since last fall, I only know of a couple guys with them and they are impressed with the low end performance. This module sounds a lot like the ones you are talking about.

The Kunytec module has been out for a while. It is similar to the HL power pak in that it only spits out one frequency when controlling the cdi. It then copies the speed sensor after a certain speed because the frequency they use for the bottom end might limit the top end? I didn't buy one way back then because I don't trust socketed IC's and a big quartz crystal in high vibration working conditions. They tend to fall out or break. That is why the stock cdi is potted. The DG3 is supposed to use some kind of output signal that changes for different conditions to work across the full RPM range. It is supposed to be unlike anything else out there, and can be used with an offset key for more effect. DG is supposed to have them in stock by next Wednesday, but only time will tell.

If anyone is planning on selling off their "old" DG mod. I just be intersted in picking one up used (this could help offset a little of the cost of a new DG3.) I really don't need anymore top end (or mid range power) by running cooler would be great!

Does anyone know how this compares to the Dynatek CDI as far as performance. Also what is the price of the CDI? I would like to get one, but which one has the best performance for the money?
