FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Is there really a big difference between the DG3 and older devices, (DG Holeshot, HL power pak, Nabor module, etc.)?
A. Yes. The DG3 has a "brain" that reads the ATV's speed and changes the control signal to the Igniter for optimal effect, while the older devices only produce a single frequency as a compromise between the best output for low end or mid range power.
Q. What is the difference between the DG3 and Dyna's new cdi?
A. The DG3 was designed for the vast majority of riders that will never run their engine above the stock 8500RPM rev limiter, or try to ride their Sport-Utility ATV at 70MPH+. The actual gains above 65MPH using engine timing alone did not justify the added cost of the Unlimiter Device. While the Unlimiter Device produced engine timing of 34 degrees up to 8500RPM, the combination of cams, stock head flow, and the CVT caused diminished returns for top speed gains. The DG3 is a product resulting from the Holeshot and Unlimiter Projects and will provide the best power gain per dollar of any other device. Those wishing to go beyond the DG3's performance may install a Generator Flywheel Offset Key for added effect across the entire RPM range. (NOTE: When using the DG3 and Offset Key, PREMIUM fuel is required.) The combination of an Offset Key, and the DG3 will provide the same performance gains for most riders, as would the replacement cdi, while maintaining the stock Igniter's reliability and other safety and anti-theft features. In short, the DG3 with and without an Offset Key will satisfy most riders as a much cheaper alternative to a replacement cdi. For those riders investing in new cams, head porting, big bore kits, etc., and are willing to live without some of the stock Igniter's features, the replacement cdi may be worth the additional cost.
Q. What kind of gains can I expect from the DG3 on a stock machine?
A. The DG3 "effect" will hit very hard on the low RPM region and continue pulling hard to the rev limiter as it senses the increased vehicle speed and changes the control signal accordingly. The effect will be more pronounced with the 21119-0004 series Igniter. This Igniter is used on everything, except the 2002 Prairie 650. The DG3 will still offer improvements over the older devices when used on the 2002 Prairie, just not as dramatic as on the later designed Igniter.
Q. Will the DG3 give me more top end speed?
A. The DG3 will dramatically increase the acceleration to top speed, and when used in conjunction with a 4 degree Offset Key, it will provide 32 degrees of timing advance in the mid-to-upper RPM range, extend the maximum stock timing value to 7200RPM, and then maintain the stock 7200RPM value all the way to the rev limiter at 8500RPM. The overall increase of top end speed varies by machine and will increase some, but it is mostly limited by the CVT gearing, cam timing, and how restricted the engine intake/heads/exhaust breathing is.
Q. Are there any other benefits to running the DG3 with an Offset Key?
A. Yes. The combination of running the DG3 with an Offset Key will provide easier engine starting, improved acceleration across the entire RPM range, cooler engine running temps, and improved top end power and torque.

new module
Sledheadrich,
Thanx for posting the FAQs on the new DG3. Here's my understanding after reading your post. (Please let me know if I got anything wrong here).
1) DG3 does NOT advance the max ignition timing (you will need to change out the flywheel key to do that),
2) DG3 does NOT increase the OEM rev limit of 8500 rpm (which is no big deal for most folks who happen to have a stock Prairie or only have minor mods),
3) DG3 does NOT remove the retarded timing at the top-end of the rpm range, and
4) DG3 should provide better acceleration than the original DG holeshot (and other similar modules), but will NOT be as good as the new Dyna CDI (in other words, you get what you pay for).
I, for one, like the fact that we now have another great alternative for hopping up the power of the P650/P700. I can certainly see how some folks will be very happy with the DG3 b/c its cheaper, it retains the stock cdi safety features and improves low and mid range power. However, there will also be another group of high speed/race junkies (like me) that will not settle for less than the new cdi.
Happy trails...
