650 front differential woes
#1
Hi Guys,
Just put a pic up on my bio page of my front differential that went for a crap last weekend. I was accelerating over a few small "stutter bumps", and when the front end came down on one, the rear tires were on snow with the fronts hitting bare ground...heard a loud *SNAP* and then the griding on acceleration after that. Limped the bike home after that in 2WD and took the diff oil fill cover off...the pic tells the rest of the story. Called my local dealer...on Sunday...removed the diff. and sent it in on Monday morning. Received the repaired diff. on thursday and she's back up and running as of yesterday.
Only reason i'm posting this is just for ya's all to keep in mind, that when the front and rear tires get turning at different speeds....YES...we can do damage. btw....all was covered under warranty at a $1025.00 price tag.
ps. Might take awhile for the pic to be *approved*
