Advantage of larger wheel?
Yo kwackerman,
If you use a larger wheel on the same size diamiter tire you will have a little stiffer sidewall having less rollover of the tire, thus providing better cornering. And you can get larger diamiter tires for larger wheels, which will increase your top speed. Hope this helped to answer your question.lol.

also keep in mind, that aluminum is lighter than rubber, so the bigger the rim ( if aluminum ), on the same size O.D. tire, the lighter the rotaional mass...
I do the oposite, I run V Force 9 & 10" wheels on my Prairie, for hare scramble racing, because I can run shorter tires for a lower center of gravity... when I run a 23" tire on the 12" rims, on the fronts, the tires sidewall is so short, that the rims beads get damaged on the rocks... the 9" rims in the back, with 1.5" more tire sidewall ( for the same tire O.D. ), still look like new...
you may find that if you can find wheels in you bolt pattern, in a 9" or 10" wheel, that you'll have a lot more options on which tire you can run...
If you play in the mud, having a larger diameter wheel, may let you run taller tires, & having extra space between the brakes & the inside of the wheel will cause less drag, with mud packed in there...
