Prairie in the Dunes today.
#1
We took our quads out to ST.Anthonys today for a afternoon of ridding in the sand. We had a prety good time and the prairie surprized me with how well it did even with the stock junk tires. I was able to make several pretty big dunes that I didn't think a big utility would climb. Was also able to turn out better than I thought on a couple that I decided not to try maing up the last lip. I did nearly pitch myself over the handle bars thanks to the engine braking system. I was doing a little jumping and got about 6 feet high and went around 30 feet but it landed harder than I thought and I slipped off the throttle and the engine brake worked way too good, was almost singing suprano jammed my wrist a little but not bad. All in all a fun afternoon, got some funny looks from a few people in one of the steeper bowls as we were blasting the hill and turning out kind of like high marking on a sled. It was fun, I am wondering about possibly disabling the EBS for the dunes. But shouldn't bother me too much because after I let my wife ride the Prairie in the Sand she wants it now, that means V-Force for me.

Does anybody know if I can disable the Engine Braking and turn it back on when I am doing normal trail ridding. I just want to be able to turn it off when I get feel the need to launch the beast. I love it on the trails and for normal ridding.

This has been asked several times... I'll be installing the Dalton V Force cover on my Prairie, in the next few weeks, & will expiriment with looking at the possibility of installing a switch, for you guy's that are interested... ( I won't need a switch, but will probably need to jumper something, to be able to retain the 4 X 4, without the instrument panel doing something goofy )...

How easy I don't really have a clue as to how the system works, haven't tried to take it apart yet. I would prefer to have the 4x4 though as it helps keep a 650 pound quad moving in the sand and lets them turn better too.

All you would have to do is pull the KBEC / 4 X 4 fuse, to see if it does what you are looking for... I'll try installing a switch, before I put in the V Force clutch, to see if a swich would work, with out screwing up the 4 X 4...
