Default source for CV parts?

Well I need to fix my CV, my temporary boot "fix" is garbage and the clacking is coming back. Im sure these larger heavier tires and wheels dont help. I called the dealer and they are high on something, as they want 60 bucks for just a rubber boot, and 300 bucks for a new CV shaft! Then they want labor to put it in too. Im looking to just buy an outer boot and try to clean the snot out of the CV and repack it and see if it stays quiet. Anybody know a good place where I can find them? has to fit a 01 or 02 400 4x4.

On a side note, I ordered some Oxlite CV guards today in the hopes this wont be happening again :-)

Go to www.ronayers.com with the kawi part number and you should get the boot kit (2 boots, grease, straps) for around $15. Take it apart and CLEAN real good. I did one for my P650. It took a LONG time to clean out the debris from one day of riding with a torn boot. It only made noise in 4wd. After I cleaned it and reassembled, it is fine. I saved a bunch of mony and spent a bit of time. It was very rewarding. I used gas, carb cleaner and compressed air to clean out the grease.
Good luck, save some money.

Thanks for the reply, I will check them out and see what I can do with it. I knew there was a reason I bought that ATV lift....

*edit*

I should add that I just found an online dealer who sells CV Joints for a lot of applications. They have a new outer CV joint with boot kit for 89 bucks, and halfshafts for 139 bucks. Its a place called "CV Restoration" They are quick with responses and seem legit. If I need one, it will be from these guys.
