Default Service Help

After getting back my 2003 KVF 360 from its 100 service, I noticed that the belt still sqeaks when the bike slows down, and I have lost about 15 km/h. the bike originally topped out at 75km/h and now its down to 60 km/h. This is the second time I have been unhappy with the dealer. Is there anything I can do? The bike is out of warranty and each trip to the dealers costs money that I dont have to waste.

Any suggestions would be helpfull

Thanks,

Jason

Get a service manual and do it yourself. Save money, learn something. It's not that difficult, and you will gain the ability for trailside repairs.

Try the dealer in clairnville They seem too know their stuff when I stopped in... Sounds like your belt is too tight. I hate spending money and getting my machine back like that.

Your belt is to tight. We have a KFX 700 that did the same thing. Installed a .03mm shim in the driven clutch and squeal went away.

Hey Jwhelan
What did the dealer specifically do ?? I took my shims out and installed the black spring--It squeals a bit at idle in gear, but I assume this is OK---I did not lose any noticable top speed though, that is why I am questioning what the dealer did.

I am not exaclty sure what the dealer did, but I am going to find out this weekend. I will be buying a service manual and learning to do this stuff myself.

If I find out, I will post it here.
