My friend rolled his 650 and when we got it upright the display kept alternating 2x4 4x4 and the 4x4 would work. We finally unhooked battery cable and reset it. Has anyone else had this problem?

normally this is an idication that the engine brake servo is on the way out.... maybe the sevro didn't like to be upside down. LOL I never found disconnecting the battery was any thing different than turning the key off and on. If your battery terminal was loose it would do that but your 4x4 wouldn't work and the bike would feel sick.

 

Mine was doing this off and on for a while. All I had to do to reset was turn the key off and back on. The way I ended up fixing it was to remove the servo from the belt cover and grease where the shaft from the actuator rode on the belt cover. Apparently it was getting stuck.
