I enjoy riding balzout and ripping through the woods and jumping. I would like to hear why people buy Utility ATV's besides using them to do work.

I see older people out in the dunes with them all the time. I've wondered myself why. But now that I want/need an auto trans, and they're a bit cheeper I think I'm starting to understand. Also I used to see people pull boats around with em. They do a lot of spinning but once they're up the ramp they park the boat next to the moble home and head off to the park bar. Kinda like a golf cart but stronger I think. If it were me I'd get a Mule for that.

I'm about 95% trail/recreation on mine and I do very little work with it; I do plow with mine, haul wood, etc.. too but not often. The reason I have the Prairie is the 4wd, the racks that I can pack a weeks worth of supplies on the bike and go biking, more spots for winches, and extra gas etc... Take a look at my picture and then imagine how much of a 700 V force you would see under my camping gear. I had even more stuff on my 650 than that before too. I know people that go camping/hunting with generators etc... just imagine a 400 ex going down the trail with a 5000 watt generator behind it. Here we really can not untilize a sport bike as much alot of slow techincal trails are easier on a sport/utility over a plain sport bike, ie low range etc... The Utility bikes are typically bigger and heavier too which I personnelly like. The Praire also has 2wd that allows us to have fun on the good trails, spinning the rear tires etc... Also in the winter here it's just recommended and easier for 4wd with the snow and ice. Yes it is possible to drive a sport bike on an opened trail in the winter but you are working harder than a 4x4. I jump/wheelie my sport utility so I'm not missing all the fun of a sport bike, and around here you really can not loose a utility bike like the prairie on the open roads because of obsticals trails are not wide enough and you run out of room. Most utilities hit 90-105km/hr witch I'm sorry to say for around here is plenty fast. Also I feel sport/utilities are more realiable too, I don't have to oil a chain, worry about a master link... As for " think it might be kinda fun to have one of those big ute's with like 30" tires or somthing" there is a P650 or P700 with 34" tires on it somewheres... Someone has it for a mud compitition. As you can see utilities are much more usefull off the dunes and in the true bush to some people.

Who whants a quad that you cant ride most of the year . They suck in the snow and I think I can smoke all the smaller sport quads and I can keep up with the Raptors ( in the short time they are even usable in Montana ) The sports are fun and very easy to ride ( Not much good for anything elce ) I would rather have a bike if I just wanted to jump over things in the short time when the snow is gone.

Because my praire 700 will carry bales of hay, wallow through the mud, and waste anything slower than a 400ex at the same time.

Not to be disrespectful? Right.

Bring your young self to some of the bigger sport/utility class races and you will take your young self home poorer but wiser.
