Default First ride with DG3

Howdy Folks,
I just installed the DG3 on my 02 Prairie. Installation isnt much different from the Holeshot. There is one more wire to hook into the unused end of the pink wire cut for installation of the Holeshot. There is also one more wire for an off/on switch which I didnt use. The DG3 isnt very much larger than the Holeshot. Instructions are clear, simple, concise, and have colored pictures for old folks like me! I dont have any scientific data except that it pegged my SOP meter. It definately has the same holeshot and you can feel the pick up in midrange. I didnt get to try it for top end yet. I have a space between 2 trees than is fairly smooth and I have always tried to get 50 mph in that space. All that I have been able to get was 49. Today with the DG3 I got 51. That is as scientific as I can get in my pasture testing. Its just too dang rough to go faster!! I think the DG3 will put a smile on your face and peg out your SOP meter!! Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds great. Mine should be here by Saturday. I talked to Don this morning and he said they shipped out all 300 DG3's so anyone wanting one will have to wait for the next shipment. Also the 4 degree offset key is still 4-6 weeks out, and there is no price set on them yet!!! He recommended that 2002 650 owners get the offset key for best results. Werent we all [the ones who bought a holeshot module] supposed to get a discount on the
so called "unlimiter module"???? So is this DG3 the considered the "unlimiter module"???????
What kind of money are they charging for the DG3?

I can't answer on the first two, but I do know the DG3 is $139.99 plus shipping.

The offset key should make a big difference over just running the DG3. I like the idea of keeping the stock cdi's reliability and functions as long as the overall performance is close to the more expensive Dyna cdi. I could use the money I save to order some Dalton CVT parts. I rarely have room to go over 65MPH anyway.

Highlifter will really be busy now with Dyna and DG3 posts to look out for. I wonder if they will let me return their low tech Power Pak for a refund?

That's a loaded question! I wonder if DG will let you return the original Holeshot in exchange for the DG3?!

Howdy gang,
just thought I would share a few more impressions of the DG3 after some more riding. My quad definately starts easier. I used to have to use a lot of choke to start in the morning. Now I apply the choke & when it starts completely take the choke off and it is ready to run. I also believe this has more low end punch than the Holeshot. The mid range is a lot stronger because on trails where I used to gas it and turn corners at about 20-25 mph, now if I am not careful it will spin out. Remember my 02 Prairie does not respond to the DG3 like the 03s and newer. The newer ones will do even better. I dont have the off set key either. Well, that is my opinion of the DG3 after a little more riding. Have a goodun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
