No sour grapes here I was just having a little fun, sounds more like someone had a bad day and was looking to unload on someone. Beside I did the testing on the prototype and I will have one on the one we race in the GNCC in a month.

Well maybe if I put another zillion dollars in my 650 I can go fast enough to kill myself, oh it already goes fast enough to kill myself. So what on earth am I trying to accomplish here. Maybe we could get some kind of surplus rocket engine from the Air Force. Maybe that would do it. I'll say this I'm done with putting more money in this quad. Did you hear me? DONE

I didn't see anything wrong with Mikey's post... I saw it as it was intended, a little dry sarcasm towards the mods topic.... I do agree that someones happiness with a part/mod is in direct relation to his given expectations... Unfortunately, alot of people don't make informed decisions, so their expectations are unrealistic. They have read the 'hype', but don't really understand the how's and why's behind a paticular mod.... so they don't really understand how that mod will react to THEIR machine.
I see this all the time in the street car hobby.... a guy puts a 1050 Dominator on his sb chevy thinking it's going to be a drag car... or drops in a high lift cam in, and then wonders why it has no bottom end, and is popping valve springs.
It's all about getting things to work together as a package..... there is ALOT to be said for "tuning" a vehicle... a well-balanced tuned package (ie..engine, trans, suspension, tires) will win against a tossed together vehicle anyday!

I have just installed the cdi and have no other mods to the engine. I can tell a pretty big improvment.Worth the money in my opinion .I am watching to see if most people get much more out of jetting and snorkle. Its really fast now ,I dont really need more power but never have enough ya know.

I think the CDI is like a magic box in the sense that it gives the biggest bang for the buck. Yes, we all know that you can do some major internal mods and gain a whole lot.....but you are spending mega bucks doing that and it isn't really all that simple for your run-of-the-mill recreational ATVer to do. But with the CDI, you get the biggest improvement for dollars spent and it's really the simplest mod to install that there is. So based on that, yeah, it's sort of like a magic box. Relatively inexpensive, extremely easy to install, and very nice performance gains.
I think some may not be getting as much performance gains as others because their's isn't tuned right to begin with. I realized how much an out of tune carb can make a difference. I did the carb work myself and it always ran ok, but could tell it was lean. I finally said "screw it" and spent $140 for a carb expert to do it right. He did it right. Before, the front tires would lift about 6" on pavement in high gear and now it will flip over on me if I don't let off. That's just from getting the carb adjusted right. I bet there are a lot of people out there riding around with their carbs not adjusted properly.
