Default Lowering needles=Leaner?

Just got back from a poker run. Mud, snow, sun, and rain. What a blast! My jetting needs a little fine tuning, though. After letting off the gas and then getting back on it I have a brief bog. Midrange to top end seems a little weak also. I believe my Dynojet needles are too rich? The clip is on 5th notch so if I go to 4th notch this will lean it a little bit?

lowering the needle will cause a leaner condition because the needle will stay inside the jet longer not allowing as much gas to come out. at least thats how i understand it
