Default V Force mods on the way!

I am so excited I had to tell someone. After reading all the great advice on this site and drooling over everyone's trick rides, I could not hold myself back any longer! I recently sold my last Tecate three wheeler and the cash was burning a hole in my pocket. I spoke to Don at Diamond G and ordered a snorkle for my airbox, I then got some great advice from Dale at Dalton and ordered the Clutch kit with the 58g weights and blue spring; also ordered a clutch puller. I just got off the phone with Pipe City after getting my name on the list for a Muzzy's pipe. I can't wait to get all this stuff on Anything else you suggest? I will probably add the Dalton clutch cover later and maybe a CDI from Mickey. At this point I don't plan to go to a big bore or change cams. Any advice on where to get jets? Should I buy the dyno jet kit or just go to Kawasaki and get a handful of jets to experiment with? Thanks!!!!

Sounds like you've got it covered I have duals and the clutch cover and have experimented with different primary springs. I just ordered the Dalton kit also, but I chose the black/orange spring. Not sure what would get you in the ball park on the jets with the Muzzy. What elevation are you at? Maybe someone with similar mods and @ similar elevation can get you close. By the way, I didn't get the puller. Kevin M has instructions on his site on how to change the weights without removing the clutch. click

Cancel your snorkel. Make your own intake and save $130. The DG snorkel is simply not worth the money.

Thanks for the heads up on the snorkel...Are you sure, did you try it vs. your own design? Diamond G told me it is worth an honest 3 hp by itself. I have seen some cool homemade snorkels on this site, but I thought it might complicate the jetting, or create some other issues. I ordered the puller, because I thought it would make it easier to change things if I start experimenting, and from my old Polaris days, I know it is good to get in there and clean things once in a while. I tend to break things, so I figured I would screw something up if I didn't get the puller. Thanks

BANDAMAN,
I think you made the right decision on the puller. When I installed the Dalton weights I worked the belt off without a puller but it was no easy task. As far as the jets go, I got mine from Sudco's (www.sudco.com I believe). They weren't expensive so if I were you I would get several sizes (I bought every size from 145 up to 165). As you mod your "V" you're going to be glad you have all the sizes to experiment with. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

If you get jets at Sudco, also get .020 shim for each needle.

I have done all mods that you are doing...please learn from my mistakes...If I had to do all over again my first purchase would of been suspention new shocks and steering stabilizer are a must...Then clutch work..pipes didnt really impress me at all, unless you like noise...Just my 2 cents....
Change shocks ,bars clamp and add steering stabilizer and some skids for protection... then make your engine and carb mods...

good luck and have fun...

I just sold my ATC and used the cash to buy mods for my V. Everything came in yesterday and let me warn anyone who's thinking about removing the belt without a puller..IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!. I was taking my belt off without the puller going by what KevinM said and RIP went the belt. I ended up having to buy a puller AND a new belt. Well I finally got everything together yesterday"pipes, dalton kit, cover, 2nd snorkle". I had to jet it up 10 jet sizes in each carb and let me tell you, This thing rips! I'm going to racing it this weekend against raptors/DS's/YFZ's/banshees/predators. I didn't stand a chance against any of them before but something tells me I won't be the one eating dirt this weekend.
