Default Kawasaki's warranty @$%&!!!

Just had my quad in for a valve adjustment and a new belt and they said the seal and bearing was out on the clutch. There is only 930 miles and around 135hrs on it and they will not cover the bearing and seal. What is the purpose of the extended warranty if they won't cover anything!!

Bastards, there is a do it yourself bearing kit out there somewhere. Search around on this forum and you should find it.

Default Kawasaki's warranty @$%&!!!

I think alot of it boil's down to the dealer,I've had different dealers tell me different thing's.My first dealer old me my first service would be free. After getting the service work done he told me the Kawasaki company had changed that and no longer gave the first service free.I also am very good friends with a guy that works for that dealership{as a mechanic}he told me it boil's down to what he tell's the warrenty company[abuse or not}.In your case I'd say the warrenty should have covered you.I'm now with a different dealership.I just bought a 2004 KVF700.This bike comes with a standard 3 year warrenty. The bike is only 4 days old so we'll have to wai to see how this dealership stands behind it's warrenty.

I found this little tidbit on Nyroc's website:

The bearing that the KEBC shoes press against in the drive pulley plate can get dry or worn and make noises. KrabidKVF650 removed the seal (gently) with a dull O-ring pick. He then removed the bearing and repacked it with grease and put the same seal back in. The bearing numbers are 6907DDG NSK and the number on the seal was 6907DG8, in case you want to try to cross refernce them and get them at a bearing store.

Uinthas says that www.ronayers.com is selling the primary drive plate with a new bearing installed for about $43.

Thanks for the replies. Since I already paid for it I'm going to call Kawasaki customer service and complain and see if they will reimburse me . The mechanic that did the work told me to try that and they might give in.

After going through the 3rd actulator on my 360 Kawi warranty it this time.. I agree, I think it is all about the dealer, kawi wouldn't listen to me on my previous malfunction of the actulator, but my dealer helped me out this last time & kawi took care of it..

Nyroc's correct, I have had to replace my bearing & face plate, I found it much easier just to buy the complete thing from Ronayers for $43, my local bearing dealer wanted $90 just for the bearing

The bushing at my dealer was $10.32 and the oil seal was $18.06 plus 1.25 hrs labor at $52 an hour. I called Kawasaki this morning and they won't take my word that it wore out prematurely at only 930 miles. He told me that the dealer has to call in and confirm it, and then they will decide whether or not to cover it. I will post back when I find out the results.
