doesnt the neutral sensor also make the neutral light come on? if the neutral light works shouldnt the starting system work to?

the neutral light proves that the neutral switch works. It does not prove that the neutral starter relay works. It is to the left of the CDI.

starting it with the brakes pulled proved that the brake switches work. It also proves that the brake starter relay works. It also proves that the main starter relay works. It also proves that the starter works.

You guys gotta have a manual to fiddle with electrical probs.

The brake starter relay looks like the exact same kind of relay, but it is between the heavy crossbar and the seat catch crossbar. I think those are the only two frame crossbars that are on top and readily visible when the seat is off.

Swap them and see if it makes a difference. See if there are bad fuses, damaged wires and stuff.
