I just received my new dyna cdi for my '03 P650 and removed old kill switch, Has anybody bought and installed a kill switch for this cdi? If so what kind of kill switch and what wires did you hook it to?? THANKS [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

It has to be a normally closed unit... there was a thread about this about a week ago... all of the normally closed units, suddenly had a run on them, & are back ordered in my neighborhood... go figure...LOL... this type, I believe the #1 coil runs through it, & when the teather is pulled, opens the circuit for the #1 coil...

You can specify a Maier normally closed ( they make both ), this one is the cheapest , then Gunnar makes one, then Pingle makes one... it must be the Cadillac, as it is much more expensive... there must be others, but these are the brands I'm familiar with...

 

Newbeatle thanks for the feed back so fast. I wonder if the closed curcit would work on the same gray wire as the open curcit.

 

no, I don't think so, it requires a different hook up

 

With your cdi they tell you which wire you can use with a normally open kill switch(Pro design is what I have). I had it hooked in to the gray myself before the CDI and now into the black and white trigger wire from the ignition. They come out infront of your pull start, a blue and black with white. I followed them up under the seat and soilder it on there. The other wire gets grounded. It works for me! If any doubts call Scott at Dyna.
