Default mojave won't stay on.

I just finished putting the 110 mojave back together and when i had it in the garage it would start on the 1st pull, then my son test rode it for 2 minutes and it started to backfire and idle went real low and finally died once he let off the throttle. then i tried to start it and nothing, so i turned up the idle screw and it did nothing, so a couple hours went by and i tried to start it and it did, but as soon as i let off the gas it died again. any ideas???
Thanks ...Fartman....

same thing happened to mine. check the sparkplug. also maybe check to see that there is no water in the fuel. if there is empty it out and let it run for a few minutes on fresh gas. also check the air filter to make sure it is clean

Sounds like its fuel related. If it runs with the throttle open, but dies when the throttle is let go...theres an obstuction in the idle circuit, most likely the pilot jet is plugged.

My lakota did the same I took the carb apart and the main jet was clogged and the pilot jet was clogged. The pilot jet has the holes in the sides but also from top to bottom I missed that the first couple of times I took the carb apart.
