vforce 800 and micks cdi rev limit ?
It might be hard to tell the difference between running out of clutch and bouncing off the RPM limiter if your new to this.
What you can do is put the quad in neutral, make sure its warmed up. Rev it up, bounce it off the limiter to hear what it sounds like. Then you will be able to distinguish between running out of clutch or bouncing off the limiter.
I think your running out of clutch. What size of tires are you running in the rear? 22" stockers? You could try 24" tires, it may look weird but you would gain some more top end.
Though thinking about all of this, running out of clutch would not stop you from gaining speed. I think you have the HP to make the quad rev even higher after the clutch runs out but you would gain speed slowly and it may sound different. I think this is what is happening.

i guess im gonna have to put tach on it see what my rpms are . no im not new to this but like u said hard to distinguish between rev limiter and runnin out of clutch .my guess is rev limiter though cause sounds the same as when u are in reverse when ignition cutting out .could also try old cdi to see if bad box . thats case that rots i dont even have 10 miles on it sense i did 800 kit and cdi must been bad box from start then but i dont believe it . i still think just hitting rev limiter when it does it im at some wicked rpms . even had me dealer try ride it and he also believe its hitting a rev limiter he said

Maybe could be jetting? Kill the motor when it starts to miss and pull your plugs to check. Maybe you may rich or lean? When I first got mine running it would hit the rev limiter at 66mph and was lean. After jetting proper it never hit the rev limiter and ran up to 74mph. That was with the stock CDI.

fullthrottle, FYI it takes me about a quarter of a mile to get my bike into the 8500rpm range, I don't believe there is any way you could hit the rev limiter in 400 feet like you were saying, so I think your in the right track, try changing back to the stock box to prove if you have a bad one if that doesn't work then maybe its jetting, I know I'm stating the obvious, but just trying to help.
