VFORCEJOHN, nice info!! Where have you been the last year or so?? Good to see some actual documentation of what these pipes can do. Would love to see the results of other pipes as well. Thanks again for your time.

VforseJohn, Thats very impressive, what altitude are you at and what about your air screw and needle settings, also what spring are you running. Thanks John A

Great info......but I noticed:

1) the AF ratio was fairly rich on the "before" dyno run (~11:1), and 12:1 "after". Proper jetting in itself could be worth a ton of hp/torque

2) The SAE "fudge factor before" was 1.01, and increased to 1.05 "after". We both know that makes a difference; why was it increased for the Muzzi run?

I'm in no way disputing the ability of the Muzzi, I'd like to have one, myself.

SAE CORRECTION is the recomended setting because it takes into account air temp, barometric pressure, and humidity.
doing dyno runs on different days means all three of the settings are usually different and that is taken into account
uncorrected settings will vary day to day hence same setup run on different days example it is 50 deg. out today but tomorrow it will be 85 deg. dynoed hp will be different even though the machine is still the same and unchanged this is where the SAE factor is very beneficial.

as far as modifications to the bike all that is done is MUZZY exhaust. 138-142 dynojets, stock everything else, 2 holes drilled in the air box lid. 1.75 turns out on the air screw( I have found the air screw has NO effect on upper hp only off idle and decel if backfiring) only if i turn it out all the way it gives a popping sound out of the exhaust on decel from high speeds.

I am still experimenting and looking for more mods to where i can say it is too fast for me now and then i will "dial it in " from there.
it runs great how it is set now.

and my altitude is near 1400 ft

there is alot more hidden in there to open it up without doing engine mods. I want a CDI next but have heard no definite results from them so I will wait.

My first testing found that the muzzy has fallen short on power against the new "Looney-tuned ex. I was breaking in are 800 G-Force kit for the mag. artical we are doing and the LTE pipe had as good of low end as the muzzy but mid to top killed the muzzy. Coming up a long hill the muzzy wouldn't even hit the rev-limiter but the LTE hit it easily and had alot more to go. I'm going to try a bigger core on the muzzy to day to try and get the top end back.

VFORCEJOHN,

How bout' a couple of close up pic's of your airbox mods. You had mentioned in an earlier post that there were 2 "sweet spots" for hole location acording to your flow testing equipment.

Thanks
