Radiator Fan / Protecting Radiator on V-Force
#1
Was recently in an accident, someone rolled backwards into my V-force. damaged my radiator (its bent and fins damaged), When the radiator bent back, it broke the fan blade off of the motor.
The fan motor was tryign to spin and ended up melting part of the fan.. I bite the bullet and ordered another Radiator for 400 bux (Wish i had seen the post about getting a fluidyne radiator, dealer said there were no aftermarket radiators).
I thought the fan motor was fine. Especially seeing a new motor costs like 250 bux.. Can I use another cooling fan motor/assembly? I see electric fan motors for 70-80 bux that seem like they would work, but was wondering if anyone out there has replaced their fan? What model did you choose? How hard was it to mount?
Also, what steps are you taking to protect the radiator? I've seen some radiator relocation kits fo other ATV's, Also there are the front bumpers. But there are so many different kinds. With almost 1000 in damage from a single accident. I want a bumper that will do more damage to the person hitting me the next time .
Whats even more upsetting is, it taking 5-10 days to get parts in.. And my bike is Brand New.. This was the first time it was on dirt.. LoL

I hit a tree not long after buying my V. I bent the radiator but it has never started leaking. (lucky me). i bought a IMS front bumper for it. It is a lot stronger than stock and comes with metal grille instead of plastic. Not sure if i can help with your repairs but I will suggest the bumper to keep it from happening again.

Hi Pkspawn,
Check out my pics. Look at the radiator guard I made for my V. It protects it alot. I sold one to pistonman and he loves it. PM me and I will give you the details.
