Default v-Force or kfx400?

im 6''1', 180lbs, what quad would fit me better? i'd rather do my own shifting, and have a quad that would jump and ride mx better. thanks

The fact that you want to do your own shifting, jump and ride MX definitely favors the 400. The V-Force’s niche is trail riding and that is what it does best (and it does very well). You would probably like the ergonomics of the V-Force better but it sounds like the KFX400 would be more to your liking. Of course you ought to try them both and then decide.

I just got back from a 3 ˝ day Hatfield McCoy trip with 8 other riders. I took both my Grizzly and my V-Force. One of the guys there brought a 400 Sportsman (his wife’s quad) to “break it in” because it only had 50 miles on it. Turns out it seemed to starve for fuel whenever he started going uphill. A call to Polaris indicated that it may have shipped with the wrong jetting in the carb (there have been other reports of this). Anyway to make a long story shorter, the local Polaris dealer didn’t have the proper parts, so I loaned him one of my quads (the V-Force in this case since he had a Banshee and a 500 HO Sportsman of his own) and he absolutely fell in love with it. After he got back from the trip he ended up with a V-Force of his own (found a used one for sale)…
