Default IMS Gas Tank for the V Force 700??

I was up north last weekend, and spent most of my riding day worried about running out of gas. Has anyone tried the aftermarket oversize tanks, and what were your results? Easy to install?

Easy to install, no problems with mine. Never checked it but I read on here that the warning light comes on with the IMS tank at about the same time the stock tank would run out. I think he said the light would go out when filling the IMS tank from empty at about 1.3 gals. I may be off a little.

I agree with everyone. It's a great mod, easy install and worth the money.

The only question I had about the install was the where to place the foam padding that comes with the tank. The directions didn't specify so I placed it where the tank kind of sits on the frame.

And the gas cap with the new tank has a vent fitting on top. The tank is already vented so I put a plastic cap on it to keep gas from spilling out. The OEM cap won't work with the new tank. Bummer, because I like the clicking noise it makes to let me know it's on tight.

Mark
