V rolls down a sand hill into the woods
#1
Well had my first roll on the V. We were at Winchester Bay this weekend and were side hilling a very steep section over by the trees. Anyway got stuck going across the hill. (Bad idea) bike started to roll over I fell off the downside and turned to try and keep the bike from rolling. Well it started to push me into the sand so I bailed. But I had a great view of $7K rolling 3 - 5 times before entering the trees where it disapeared. Probably rolled 7 - 8 times in total. So I am sitting in the sand starring in disbelief. Its probably totaled. So I start thinking, it was stolen, I will just tell the insurance company it was stolen.
So me and my 3 friends start walking down into the trees (thank god I was riding with 3 other people). We find my bike upside down with the rear tire up against a tree not running. It takes all of us to roll it over and not slide down the hill farther. The fenders look fine (although later I found the right front fender has broken two of its connections), brake levers spun on the bars and one is bent, and To our amazement the bike starts right up after being upside down for 5 minutes. So after 30 minutes of intense effort we push it 30 yards across the hill and down another path and ride home.
Re-adjusted everything, bent the break lever back and wired the fender back to the metal spar. Doesn't even look like it went over. Anyway looks like a new fender is about $150 although I think my fix will work.
I checked the oil and diff fluid, is there anything else I need to check?

Only the reality that if you had reported it stolen and got caught it is a felony that would cost you more than the $7000.00. Just giving you a hard time. I know the first thing when I rolled my prairie was oh how much ids this going to cost me, intense relief to find only damage was switch for my winch and a small crack in the plastic next to the running boards. It fired right up too and we rode it back to the truck to nurse my seperated shoulder and cracked ribs.
