Default mojave oil change need help quick

i was changing the oil and filter for the first time and after i let the oil drain i tried to get the oil filter cover off by removing the two screws but its still hard to get off. I was wondering if i was supposed to remove something else or if anyone has a simple trick to help me out. Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

It may just be stuck by the gasket, or gook and grime???

nevermind i got it off but now i have another problem i cant find the pin, i took the cover off and i looked for a pin and i didnt see one so i pull on the filter and it came out with the grommet in the middle then i looked at both sides and there was pin and i pushed on the grommet and it slid off the filter, now i dont know where the pin is, or if their even was one since i bought this atv used. Any one know where it might be and if its important or can i just put the new filter in?

okay i think i figure it out. Grommets are the black things on the openings of the filter, and the pin is the cylinderical thing in the middle, right?

Yup. Actully the pin is the bypass valve. It will only go in the engine one way.
