Opinions on '03 Prairie 650

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the forums and to ATVing and I'm in the process of looking for a utility 4x4 ATV. I'm not looking for any specific brand as long as it's about $5000 or less and is reliable and I can switch between 2wd and 4wd. I found a used '03 Prairie 650 4x4 automatic with over 1700 miles on it. The plastic is scratched up somewhat, looks like from normal use. The plastic is not cracked and it starts right up. The tires are in pretty good shape but would probably need to be replaced by this winter. It has a year left on the manufacturer's extended warranty and they're asking $4800 for it. I know it's hard to judge without seeing it but does $4800 seem like a decent price for what I've mentioned above? Would this be a reliable quad? I will be doing trail riding in woods, hills, and in the wide open. Playing in snow and some light mud and plowing snow.
Thanks for your insight.

I've owned my 03 P650 for 1 year now (got 1130 miles on it) and its still running great. There are lots of mods available for it if you want to mess with it or you can just enjoy it stock. My machine has been very reliable with the one and only mechanical failure being the left rear axle seal (which was covered under my factory warranty). $4800 sounds reasonable to me, but I have not been pricing used P650's lately...so I'm not sure if that's the best price around. If you buy a Prairie, you just need to be aware that its important to keep the cvt belt tight. Its really easy to check the belt tension and add/remove shims...but its a little intimidating the first time you do it. Nyroc's website has all the info you would ever want to know and more (including how to check and adjust the belt tension) about the Prairie 650/700, so I highly recommend that you read up on Nyroc's website so you know what you are getting yourself into.
Most folks tend to agree that the stock dunflop tires are junk and the front suspension springs are too soft for very fast paced trailriding or XC racing, but these items can be replaced with much better aftermarket parts. Overall I would highly recommend buying a P650/P700.
