Don't listen to him guys. I went into a water hole in the trail that nobody else would try, unless they didn't know how deep it was, which they didn't, poor buggers. I starting floating and lost traction, stalled, got her started,(while floating twice) and just about got out but again, no traction. if I would have got off of her, and balanced her while putting through, I would have made it by floating(27,589's).
,
HeyYou pulled me out backwards, easy while I just stood in the water and balanced it. Got her on back on terra firma(pipeline) and proceded to try to get it started. The muffler was full of black sooty water, tipped her on her back bumber and whirled her, spewing gunk out the back. Still wouldn't go. Oops, we took the breather cover off first, about a 1/4 cup laying in around the filter, cleaned it up, took the filter off and nothing looked like it went down the carbs at all, so put that back together, cleaned. The oill looked good, took out the plugs.
The back plug is hard to get out with factory bike tools,(please carry a socket set to help you) the back plug was clean, the front had a little gunk on it. Put her back together and she still wouldn't go and killing the battery by now. Hook the Cat to her while in high range, it sputter after we stopped when I tried the starter, pulled her another 1/4 mile and tried again, sput, sput, sput. I think she is going to go.
With some choke, she took off, sputter a little but taking it and am I ever SMILING. The belt was totally full, got some out while turning her over trying to get her started with the connector tube was off getting at the back plug. After putting that back together the boys who helped me wanted to go,(I held them up enough) She was slipping bad but I drove arond a bit and took off up the trail, by about one mile it was working good, put her back in high and away I went.
Kawasaki,
She goes under and still keeps going, you got to like it! Another bike went in it behind us but we didn't have time to help him but I heard he couldn't get it going.
I had a real fun time, it was my first rally to which I enjoyed very much, seeing all the bikes and people, even ATV connection's, iron butted Coyote.
We got held up a couple times, buddy hollored from the back, what's the problem.
It's a Honda, I hollored back, buddy that was stuck just looked.(lol)
Thanks to the two people who really got in there and helped me get my bike going. One Honda guy and a Yami dude. We are all in this together, the teasing is just for fun.
DOA
ps, heyyou might have pulled me around but my bike wasn't started.(lol)
These rallies are FUN.

I ran my 650 because my brother wanted my 700. Ran like a top and the amount of mud that was in my radiator was the amount of fun I had I'm surprised it never over heated it wasn't too effective! DOA I would start talking to Dale to see if you can transplant your engine into an argo! Before DOA showed up a 650 AC was playing in that hole... very impressive! I'm just wondering who was in front after DOA got his bike running? DOA start switching some fluids... Turns out next weekend I can go to Five Islands!!! I'm really shocked on how you were able to tow it to get it going!

I think the reason the tow started it was because it cleared the belt from water. I could hear sloshing around and seen it when we had the connector off. I believe this was slowing down the turn over of the motor.
If I ever tackle it again I will water wheelie it through, although it scared the poop out of me to get my baby that wet. I was really impressed how it floated and now that I know, if we are ever under exploration pressure and need to get across a hole, I might just walk it through. The breather design is number 1.
Nice to meet you kawi650,
My bikes is in the shop, I have been getting a grinding noise from the front end and it got progressively worse as the rally went on. I used two wheel drive alot not to hurt her but there is something definetely wrong with the front end, in low range going into hollows or mud. Scares me to think it might lock up and put the end to my life. I hope they find it, it was leaking oil after I got home, they seem to think it is something else but if I get it back and it kills me, you are my witness.
I just got it back before the rally, a boot was off and hurt the upper CB joint,(new *****) but it was still grinding when I took it on the rally. I have taken her in every 1,500km so I am hoping it will be under warranty and that they will fix it this time.
I'm a poor man with a rich mans bike I think, but I love her, is that like a wife?
Sincerely, DOA.
PS, I would love to go to Five Islands, I have camped there a 1/2 dozen times when young with my parents, near got killed by boating to the islands and getting caught in the tide turmoil coming back. That is the best place to see the rise in tide but it can get you trapped if your not careful. I bet the four wheeling is awsome there on Economy Mountain. I can only go where I can get to with the bike for now though, circumstances, damn circumstances.(lol)
