Default wd-40?

a friend of mine recommended spraying wd-40 all over my machine (not the brake rotors) after washing it. I must say it looks great, but I wonder if wd-40 is damaging to anything on the quad? I was wondering how many people do this and have they seen any problems with rubber or plastic parts being damaged or anything like that. thanks

just sounds crazy to me..why not just wax it and not have petrolium distilate all over your buggy?..

WD 40 is a penatrating oil and does attack some plastics and rubbers. I would not use it.

It shines up the regular old style plastics very well. I have used it on all my hondas for years. Keeps mud from sticking so bad. I will not use it on my LE plastic though, it is a different plastic.

I coat mine with tire shine stuff, Armorall or Son of a Gun. Works pretty good and helps at clean up time.
