Hello,

Well one day after the four wheeler had cooled down from riding I took the water hose to it. When I started it to go riding some more it started smoking blue smoke like crazy it run just fine just smoked.It has ever since it didnt smoke a bit before? Could I have got water in the oil?? Or could my oil be to thick all of the sudden(after a bottle of STP)? Thanks

 

my 99' Bayou was doing this too. we rode it all day in Potter County, PA and it ran fine, but started somking gradually over the 3 days we rode there. I took it back to the guy that i bought it from, and he said that the wiseco piston he had in it was probably improperly sized at the factory {he said that he has had that problem before because of lower standards at weiseco. He said it was just enough space in between piston and wall, that it pumped my oil up on top, and burnt oil. It didnt smoke before, because the piston was just starting to get worn the 3 days i rode. So now we are putting a stock bore kawi. piston back in. {luckially he had spare motors} thats all id know.

 

That STP junk will cause smoke, I know that.

 

That STP will effect the wet clutch in a negative way, If it were mine, id change oil and get it out of there.

Im in the process of changing the oil, im having to wait on a transmittion screen before I can put the oil in. When I took the oil out it had a little water in it and you could see the stp but all in all the oil looked good. Im still confused what could have started it. I hope its nothing major it didnt smoke a bit just until after I washed it?? I had added the stp a few days before but had saw no smoke??Please help!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img]
