Default '04 Prairie 700 Backfiring

I have an '04 Prairie 700 with 60 hours on it. I took it out over the weekend after a 6 week rest and it's running terrible. It has a really bad miss and is backfiring up through the RPM's.

I can actually make it run ok if I tinker with the choke while it's running but as soon as I shut the choke off it starts missing real bad and coughing through the carbs at low speed and through the exhgaust as I bring it up.

I changed out all my gas but I still have the same result.

Since the choke seems to fix the problem I'm assuming it's a fuel issue. Before I go and start re-building carbs and such I wanted to check to see if anyone had a better idea what could be wrong.

My dealership assured me that whatever this is it wouldn't be covered under the normal or extended waranty that I purchased. Real nice huh?
They also told me that before they even would look at the bike they would have to perform the mandatory 10 hour service at a measly $190. I assured them that I had done this service myself as outlined in the owners manual but it doesn't matter. $190 just to bring it in the door.

I llove this machine, when it was running smooth but if I knew what poor service i was going to get at the dealer level I may have chosen that grizzly.

Any ideas on this problem with my backifiring would be greatly appreciated. I hate being held for ransom and despise negotiating with dealership "terrorists".

Thanks in advance
