the Oleman is back in town 360 report
Spent the week in Denver---AWESOME City and beautiful mountains--best trip I have ever been on---got home last night and my new pilot jets and needle jet spring were waiting for me---I replaced all carb jets with
Main = 150
Pilot = 40
Starting = 90
Put new uncut spring on top of needle
Shimmed needle with 2 brass washers = .050
Best midrange and top end speed yet---very happy with performance--Bike seems to be idling bad with larger pilot jet in (stock is 35) I also have a 38 pilot that I think I will slip in tomorrow--Once again, the idle fuel screw is impossible to adjust without turning the carb sideways, so I havent figured out a way to adjust this screw on the 360 while idling

Would you summarize for me what you did to improve power from stock in the midrange and top end?
I can read the current numbers but not knowing the 360 that well, I can't really tell why you got the power.
The new uncut spring is just a stocker 360 slide spring?

My stock main was a 155
I found my best top speed (at the top of my driveway/test track. a pretty steep hill at the end of a paved 1,000 ft driveway at WOT is with the 150 main jet.
I also replaced stock pilot #35 with a richer jet #40
Needle spring was replaced with a stocker(because i cut my original down and it made bike bog)
Midrange power is from needle shims!!! The first time I ever shimmed the needle, I installed a plastic washer I had laying around and bike ran good except for a loadup at between a quarter and half throttle, I then got technical and bought small brass washers but I never went over .025 with the brass washers before today.
I have a .035 and a .015 brass washer in there now and experiencing a very very slight loadup putting around under half throttle, and my idle is also loading up---I am going to try a smaller pilot tomorrow #38 befor messing with the needle shims.
Bike is still no rocketship, but alot more sportier to ride than before. When you nail it in the grass or on the trail, it breaks the tires and throws some pretty good roostertails.

olman, have you been looking at your plugs with that #150 main in?? Reason I ask is I would think that would be to lean for you being in PA.. I have looked at mine a couple of times & have been concerned it's too lean because I have had a little white on the plug & remember i'm riding allot higher then you. I was up around 10,000ft yesterday & am going to re-check my plug to see if the white is still showing up..
Are you going to keep the .35 & .15 brass shim in there, does that seem to be the ticket for the needle?
