Default 22" V-force wheels on P650/P700 for XC racing?

UPDATE:
I recently bought some used 22" stock rear V-force wheels and I installed them tonite on my P650. Before installing these wheels, I had 25" bearclaws mounted on C-series rims. Here is what I found:

LOOKS:
Definitely lower to the ground and noticeably wider/flatter rear tires make my P650 look lean and mean!!

WIDTH:
I measured the width of the rear tires when mounted on my quad (from outside of the left tire to outside of the right tire) at 3 foot and 10 inches...this was the exact same width as my 25" bearclaws mounted on C-series rims. I seem to recall that each C-series rim is offset 1" wider than stock rims...so if that is correct, these V-force wheels are 2" wider than stock P650 wheels and the same width as C-series rims. NOTE: This was good news b/c I did NOT want to have a wider rear wheel set up that I already have with my 25" Wheels b/c I often need to squeeze between the trees during my XC races. B/c V-force wheels are 11" wide and my 25" bearclaws are only 10" wide, the inside of each V-force wheel is noticeably closer in proximity to the muffler (left side) and gas tank (right side). I have only 1" clearance next to the gas tank and 2" clearance next to the muffler. I'm just glad they didn't rub!

GROUND CLEARANCE:
My 25" wheels resulted in 7.6" of ground clearance as measured at the bottom of my rear skid plate to the garage floor. With the V-force wheels, I now have 6.2" of ground clearance. This is about what I expected and I'm satisfied with this result b/c I will be competing in XC races at the same time as lots of sport quads...many of which only have 6" or less GC at their rear sprocket. B/c I figure that I will only use my 22" wheels in a bone dry XC race without too many bolders/lg. rocks on the trails, crawling thru mud and heavy rock climbing should not be a factor for these wheels...also I figure my 4x4 mode should pull me over most obstacles that might hang up most sport quads with the same or less GC as me. (NOTE: I use 4x4 mode in XC races rain or shine).

STABILITY/HANDLING CHARACTERISTICS:
I really need to mount 22" tires on the front of my P650 to level out the quad and bring the front end center of gravity down lower before I can judge the effects of the 22" wheels on my P650...however in the very brief test ride I had tonite (up my street and back a few times), it seemed to feel noticeably more stable and planted when making sharp turns. I'll report back later after I have a chance to mount 22" wheels on the front and test it out at the local MX track.

PS - Tomorrow I plan to order custom 10" rims for the front of my quad (I already have some used 22" tires that I recently bought cheap off of e-bay). Once the rims arrive, I will be ready to go!

Happy trails...

Be sure to check your higher speed acceration rates and top speed; you have made a radical change to the final gear ratio.

Good point...I do anticipate accelerating a little faster and losing a little top speed as a result of this mod. I'll definite check on that after I get it all 4 tires mounted in 22" size.
