Default How do i replace the belt??

Hey guys,

I saw the forum once before awhile back on how to replace the belt without takeing any of the pully's off. if someone has done it before without takeing the pully off will you please tell me how to do it. i think it was something like just takeing a screw driver and slideing the new belt into place. is this correct?? and if so do you just turn the pully like you were putting on a bike chain?? please help. THANK YOU

You got it. Simply take a screwdriver and pry off the belt (near the bottom of the secondary pulley) while simultaneously turning the secondary pulley (use a rachet/socket to turn the large center nut on the sec. pulley).

It doesn't really matter which direction you turn it. I usually turn it clockwise when I pry the belt off from the bottom of the sec. pulley...or sometimes I will turn it counter-clockwise and pry it off from the top of the sec. pulley.

Actually, I just pulled off the sec. pulley this week to adjust my belt tension and I'm pretty sure it has std. threads on that pulley. However, the center bolt on the primary pulley does indeed have reverse threads on it.

Wait till the belt shredd's itself and all the kevlar belts get caught up in the drive pulley....happped this past weekend with one of our riders and it took 3 hours to get the belts out of there. There is no easy way of getting the stuff out. You should be lucky if the old belt simply is still in tact and removable.

BTW, a new belt cost him 139.00 ---- ouch
