Default Hi there kawi Guys

Hi guys
I am not trying to start anything here, but Kawi wont have the biggest motor for long. Polaris will have the sportsman 800 out towards the end of July.also the pred will have reverse and maybe even a 450 pred. Is anybody from Going to Polaris B-Day in Minneapolis in July to see what they will have for 2005. Just thought I would let you know a little info before hand

The 800 is not coming. Gene's polaris in Baytown, Texas said they will be getting the new quads shortly after the 50th anniversity and the new sportsman will be a 725cc EFI. And, futhermore, who cares. Usually guys who always try to say the have the biggest cc quad are trying to compensate for a lack of some SMALL physical trait that they were born with.......HMMMMMMMMM. Don't you think kawa people read other forums? So, we know what they say. Why don't you just wait until the new ones come out before flapping your jaw. If they come out with an 800cc, SO WHAT! Do we then elect you president??????

Default Hi there kawi Guys

I think it is good to discuss stuff intelligently.

I won't buy a quad because it has the "Biggest motor". In my oppinion, the Kawi V will always be superior to the Polaris Inline 2. It is a shame that so many people can only see CCs. The phrase "no replacement for displacement" is used out of correct contect by uneducated people. There is also "No replacement for volumetric efficiency", and even better "no replacement for volumetric efficiency at higher RPMs".

First reason - 8 valve overhead cam means more power per CC compared to the 4 valve pushrod motor that the SP has. In fact, notice that Kawi is still detuning their V. They increased the cc to help it sell to people that don't have very good judgement in buying a machine, but also detuned it because the 8 valve 750 V makes too much power.

Second reason - less vibration. I can show you the math behind why a 90* V will vibrate less than an inline 2.

Third reason - I strongly hate that All wheel drive system they have. I prefer true 4x4 with a non electronic differential locker.

Until Polaris can keep the weight down and build a better 4x4 system, I won't even look at a brochure.

I am not 100% sold on EFI. I know efi is better stock, but it you mod trhe motor, it takes a lot more money and effort to tune it for the change.

I would buy 10 suzuki king quads before I even considered a Polaris 800. The king is much sportier ride.

Nyrock,

You said it well! I also agree about the King Quad. I think that it is going to be one of the "top contenders" for 2005.

Great reply Nyrock. Too many people think about the cc and nothing else about the motor. Heck, many don't even know the difference between a v-twin and a parallel twin. There was a guy who was talking about the polaris 600 vtwin a few weeks ago. Last I remember, the polaris 600 twin is the same parallel push rod twin that the 700 has. HMMMMMM. I think you summed it up better than anyone. Good job.

There are many reasons why I want a Brute Force, but the CCs are not on the list.
1. IRS
2. 604lbs.
3. V-Twin technology
4. Cool 4x4 diff locking "trigger"
5. Super-tough name...NOT.

Yeah, the Arctic Cat V-2 has alot of those qualities, but just like the Sportsman, it weights 700+ pounds. If Kawasaki released a 650 IRS machine this year and the Brute Force was SRA, I would go for the 650 model and pass on the 750ccs.

So what if the Sportsman got a 800cc engine, it would probably end up weighing 750+ pounds.

Maybe skidoofan should not have come in the fourm saying that. But, you should really check out the Polaris AWD system before you start to trash talk it. It is a awsome working unit, why do you think the Sportsman's have won High Lifter's mud nationals for the past 5 years? As for the motor, who cares how it works, the Liberty motor's work and work very well. The 700EFI has 50 HP, pretty good if you ask me. May not look just awsome on paper, but it's the real world that counts. With that being said if i didn't have the choice of a Polaris SP, I would have a 700 or the BF750 it makes the chioce even easyer with the addtion of IRS. Kawi makes some great bikes, but so does Polaris. In the world of big bores Polaris and Kawi have it coverd. Kawi=power and speed, Polaris=smooth high GC ride. Maybe the BF750 or the could be coming SP800 can put the two together better.

Default Hi there kawi Guys

I sort of spoke real hard against a guy on this kawi forum a few weeks ago for posting about the brute force in the polaris forum. The reason I was hard on the guy is that if you go over there and talk you can get bombarded with oppinions that you would rather not hear. People that are loyal to the sportsman are loyal to it for reasons that I personally do not agree with and I cannot relate to those people. Plus they spoke of "Polaris Firsts", which is insignificant. The other ATV makers have just as many "Firsts" as polaris does, so that is dumb reason to stick with a company.

I do not stick with a company. If Suzuki comes out winning all the Quad wars, I might just go with the King. I might go with the Bforce too. But, the Bforce has a seat almost 3 inches higher than the King does. That is a big issue to me. I use body language a lot, and being higher increases the need to move even more than I already do in order to stay as stable. However, the Bforce is probably going to have best power (again). The king is probably not as quick, but has a couple more features that people will like than the Bforce.

I have ridden on and ridden with Sportsmans, magnums and scramblers with Polaris 4x4. I have had friend that owned polaris for many years. It is my oppinion, but I truly HATE the polaris AWD system.

I understand polaris mechanical features. I have a master's in engineering. I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this knife still cuts paper. I do know some things about polaris, I studies polaris for a while when I was shopping for a quad. I know how it works and why it works. I just don't like some of the things it does when is isn't blasting full throttle though a mud puddle (which it can do well, I know).

Sorry, it is my oppinion, and I hate it. If I come across a polaris on a trail, I don't mention this because it can start an argument.

I understand 100% were you are coming from. Don't get me wrong but there are things about the other brands that I just can't stand. There are things I wish Polaris would change (the AWD is not one of them, just me). That's a fact of life, some people are going to like somethings and others are just going to hate it. My 700 EFI fits me just right, I'm sure your Kawasaki is the same for you. The best quad in the world is the one you own most of the time.

I agree to disagree....
