Default Off topic... HAAARD starting KX500

Yea.. I know, big bore 2 strokes are a pain to start.
BUT, I know how to start them.

Its about technique... and a strong leg.

But my KX has become a real bear to start.
Even having the bike supported, and having both feet on the pegs, with massive kicks....
Sometimes it just wont fire. EVENTUALLY... it will.

The compression is not what it used to be, and I have not rebuilt the top end on THIS KX500 yet.
(its a 93' and I know its been a long time since the top end was done)

Did I just answer my own question? Any input is appreciated.

yeah low compression will cause hard starting but dont forget about the reeds, if they are getting worn the bike will become hard to start
