where's your shock set at for p650?

I'm 180 lbs, usually no extra weight on board, Stock shock preload. Seems to be ok.
Anyone play with the setting any, besides for loading down the back rack?
From what I figure you loosen the bolts for longer spring = stiffer, higher ride, more weight?
Tighten em down for compressed spring = softer
Or am I backwards?
Is 4 and 5 psi in tires best for overall riding? Mud, trails, hills?

you are backwards, tighten the washers down = stiffer, loosen the washers = softer.
i have mine almost to the tightest setting and like it very much. it was a pain to adjust it though, i had to take the shock off and put it in a vice while me and a friend turned it with 2 stock spanner wrenches with a 3ft. bar off of each wrench (one guy on each washer turning oppisite ways) and a whole lot of wd-40.
when i had my stock tires i ran all of them at 5.5 psi

What are the size (dimension;are all same length) of the Allen Head screws and allen wrench that worked for you, and where did you purchase them I've heard that a "T" allen wrench works great.
I called my local dealer today and they want $2.50 PER SCREW---got to be kidding me. I'm definately going to buy allen or torq heads.
I Just spent $40 on jets and larger pilots and want to get the screws before I remove the carb bowls.
Happy trails

Not to hijack this topic... but I used 4x14mm allen heads on my float bowls, works great. Make sure to grab a ball-end allen wrench for them. Makes getting them in and out at angles much easier.
