first time out p650
#1
I just bought my 650 about a month ago used and tonight was my first time to ride it in an area big anuff to really see what they can do. These things are very fast, my top speed was 0 to 51mph and back to 0 in about 2-1/4 acre "not anuff room to keep going" what should the top speed be around it is stock, 27in M/T 589's and winch.

You and I and the other 650 (& 700) guys have a hell of a quad. My 650 is 63 mph by the speedo. I only know that out of curiousity. Power is good, but top speed doesn't mean much. If it does, then get a Corvette. Go slow downhill in the mountains or you will pay.
Not to be bossy, but just have fun, and know the trail you're on. I love my 650 and probably will never get a newer one. Go faster? We have enough speed and power, so just ride the trails and enjoy the view. Let the guys who are in a big rush go ahead. To hell with 'em. You will all end up in the same place only you will have seen something besides rocks and dust. Believe me, they don't call me 'crash' for nothing and I have learned my lesson.
Congrats on your new bike.

I agree guy's. If it's speed you're lookin for , get a motocross or something like a Banshee. The Prarie is a heavy 4x4; it's built to go places where you normally would'nt dare ride the above machines.
Now anough with the bit--ing.
These praries just love the mud and water. They are like tanks. Make sure you get yourself a good set of mud tires. I prefer Bear Claws for best all around tire. In deep snow , I use my Snow Trax(check out my Pics) then it really feels like you're in a tank; the thing can almost climb trees with these.
Whatever you choose to do , enjoy it fully but stay safe.
