Pra. 700 needles richer than the 650's
I jetted my 700 and friends 650 the other day and found that the stock needles in both are different, mine in the 700 are slightly shorter (richer) than the 650's......I done some measureing and found that the 700 needles are about the same size as if you put a couple of shims under the 650 needles or about equal to 2 notches richer on the DJ needles.....so If some of you guys are having trouble finding shims for your 650 needles just go to the dealer and get the p700 needles, they will be richer without having to shim them...........By the way I put the 142/145 mains and made the mistake of shimming the already rich 700 needles and ran it for one ride with the stock snorkel and K&N....Ran like crap, came back, put the napa 7335 snorkel on left the 142/145 mains, and pulled the shims, and put the needles back to stock condition.....bike has never ran this good, bottom end is very strong all the way through the midrange and it keeps pulling, have done nothing to my exhaust yet, hit the rev limit with the Dyna in low at 48-49 mph.......top speed was 71 mph with the stock jets, I will have to put my friend back on it for another top speed run..............

The needles in the Brute are different from the front to rear carbs, front needle is NFKK rear needle is NFKL......mains are 152 front 158 rear......pilot jets are #38 in both carbs, and mixture screws are 2 1/4 turns out...... these are factory specs for 0-3900 ft. according to the service manual.........
