Raced a dirtbike today, I won! :)

I was out today and we were riding with a couple of guys, one had a YFZ450 and one had what he said was a Kawasaki FS250 or something like that, a 2 stroke dirtbike.
At first we were just having a jumping contest (yes, I did crash during a jump last week, and yes I am stupid), we were doing some nice 30s, the guys on the bike did a nice 45, the guy on the YFZ450 did at least a 50, although his bike didn't soound right after.
Then someone said "race", heehehehehe....I perked right up...LOL. It was the dirtbike guy, at first he just smiled but then my friend pointed out that I love to race anyone on anything so he agreed to race.
It was a MX style race in 99% sand with various styles of jumps, a razorback dune, a table top dune, various hills and dips, some small rocks. Maybe a 1/8th mile total.
I blew him away both times, we raced twice. He just couldn't take the turns in the sand like I could. I was going to race him again but he gave up. That is what made the difference, I was right on his *** the whole time but when it came to carving a turn in dunes I would pass him every time, then it would just add up until I was over a half a lap ahead.
Anyway I don't pretend to be faster than a bike, but a win is a win. I won!

Never got one at Apex/nellis, there is a 50 mile loop we do at Sheephead and when we parked at the end of Jones, one of the construction guys told us about the BLM. We did the loop anyway but there is a lot signs that never used to be there.
Doubt Apex will get that way anytime soon. Maybe I'll see ya out there, we go every Saturday from about 6am to noon. Will play in the sand for a couple hours then race toward the lake and back.

It's a $600 fine to be caught riding anywhere in the valley. Not because of the ATV, but because of the dust ordinances. Apex does not apply, from what I've heard. Doesn't bother me though, there so many great rides within an hour of here, I don't mind the drive.

I have a friend who deals with the BLM all the time. He owns Desert Storm paint ball and has to use them to enforce his permit to play where he plays.
Anyways, he said one of the rangers claims you can buy a permit to ride anywhere in the valley. My personally opinion is he heard wrong, but I am going to find out.
