air/fuel ratio gauge report
One thing to keep in mind as far as this mod is concerned is that the o2 sensor your using is a narrow band o2 sensor and will only read right around the 14.7:1 mark which is stoich or optimal air/fuel. The only way to get a true air/fuel mark is to go with a wide band o2 setup. Only problem with the wide band setups is the price tag which has come down in the past few years but is currently around the $350 price tag. I dont see any problems on using your setup for tuning but dont rely on it as your only tool, read your plugs as well because the narrow band o2 sensors are only really accurate at WOT. I did this setup on my old DS650 to try to help setup my carb and it caused me more headaches than answers unfortunatly. The gauge was reading stoich but the plug was showing a lean condition. Good luck with it though.

air/fuel ratio gauge report
i typed in fuel air ratio on google yesterday and got a pretty good education---seems the 02 sensor is what they call a lambda sensor and in reality is only measuring temperature---i always wondered how it new how much oxygen was being consumed---so in that sense, it seems that a more expensive or better guage than the on available at autozone for $25 might give more accurate and quicker response time on changing temps???? Just a guess.
