Default 100 HOUR BELT LIGHT......?

I was told by the dealer that it was just a warning light that would remind you that the belt need needed servicing. There would be no ill-effects, just the light will not go off until the belt is serviced. I took mine in around 90 hours for service and the belt was checked then. I now have 120 hours and no light.

Default 100 HOUR BELT LIGHT......?

Not sure if this applies but I found this on the kfx700...

KFX700 - Belt light reset procedure

The KFX700 belt check indicator light turns on after 100 hours to
cause you to take it to the dealer and get the belt checked. This
procedure is for people that are skilled in checking the 700 belt.
Do not reset the light without confirming that the belt is in good
condition and is adjusted proberly. A worn or cracked belt can
be usafe for the rider.

Turn ignition off.

Inspect or replace belt as neccessary (P/N 99924-1315-01).
You have to take the cover off and measure the deflection.

Remove Seat.

Locate the two 4 pin connectors under seat. One is black and
the other is grey.

Disconnect both connectors and reconnect them to their
opposite color (black to grey, grey to black).

Turn on the ignition switch.

The belt indicator light should flash.

Turn off ignition switch (note that the hour meter is reset when
the key is turned on).

Disconnect the two connectors and reconnect them to their same
color (black to black, grey to grey).

Turn ignition back on and confirm that the belt light is not on.

I heard that when you hit the 100hr mark the engine won't rev past a certain rpm until you have the dealer check the belt and reset the sensor.

Default 100 HOUR BELT LIGHT......?

my 03 650 4x4 just hit 100hr, i noticed the lite was on around 110 hrs, i didn't think it had the power it used to, coincedence or not who knows but someone here sent me to nycos and i followed the reset belt lite procedure and in 15min the lite was out and it was running top notch again, it's pretty simple to follow, better than paying 50-100$ to the dealer, just my opinion brody p.

Default 100 HOUR BELT LIGHT......?

My #$?$30%@# light is driving me bonkers. I don't even hit the 100 hours and I'm reseting mine. I never did trip the belt switch but with 250 hours on my machine I've had to reset my light/limp mode 6 times. Belt is adjusted right etc....
