front axel shaft on p650

there's a snap ring on splined end that goes into diff case. Inside the diff case there is a splined bearing with a slot for the snap ring. So when you install the shaft and seat it the snap ring slides into the slot. Is this all that holds the shaft in the diff case besides the a arm/wheel housing. my axel popped out a hair and got water inside and would not engage 4 wheel drive.

i had a 00 650 4x4 and my buddy wrecked it and broke the contro0l arm and ripped the shaft out, aftre getting new parts and talking to kaw, that is all that holds it in hit the shaft with a 2x4 and a hammer and seat it that all that holds it in other that control arm/shock. hope this helps brody p., thats all we did and never had a problem in 500 miles...
