Mojave air intake

While we're on the subject...

There is a little hose (with a plug in the bottom) hanging off the back of the Air Box above the swingarm. I looked at it about a month ago and it had about 1/2 an inch of oil in it, so I drained it. Since then I've rode the bike about three times. Now there is now about 1/8 in of oil in it. What's going on here? Is it used to collect condensation? If so, why is there oil collecting in it?

Mine started doing that and it was caused by back pressure on the sump from bad rings. When I opened the oil fill with the engine running it almost blew out of my hand. I had the cylinder bored and put a weisco piston in.It made a huge difference. If you have to do it, DONT use Cometic gaskets! They are JUNK! Mine leaked the first time it ran. I put the old one in with some copper gasket spray and its been fine ever since. Good luck with yours.
